On 14th November, a dozen completely unique, one-of-a-kind rocking horses will be auctioned at the famous Sotheby’s auction house in London to raise funds for the South African charity CHIVA Africa. Designed by an impressive line-up of celebrities, designers and artists, these incredible creations include a rocking unicorn by Dame Judi Dench and a rocking zebra by fashion designer Amanda Wakeley.
Julien Macdonald, currently in the spotlight on Strictly Come Dancing, teamed up with Melissa Obadash to create their fabulous rocking horse while Nicky Clarke paired up with fellow stylist Kelly Simpkin to design their superb creation.
Stars and designers have worked closely with Stevenson Brothers Rocking Horses to create these wonderful pieces. The company have been making and restoring rocking horses for more than 30 years and are widely recognized as the world’s finest rocking horse makers.
The ‘Stars Rocking’ auction will raise funds for the CHIVA Africa’s Pediatric and Adolescent Aids programs based in South Africa. 100% of the proceeds raised will be used to help save children affected by the HIV and Aids epidemic. The charity sends volunteer teams of medical staff to some of the poorest regions who provide training to local teams.
